The name Tuina is simply the combination of the following massage techniques
Tui –“Push”.
Na – “Grasp”
“A really wonderful massage that works magic on aches and pains!” S.H.
In ancient China, therapy was classified either external or internal. One external type of therapy is Tui Na which is a branch of medicine guided by the theories of Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM). TCM is founded on the concepts of treating the body as an integrated whole and is termed today as being a Holistic treatment.
In Tuina, manipulations are used to stimulate points or other parts of the body surface to correct physiological imbalances in the body and achieve curative effects which in turn, returns body functions to normal.
In the West, illnesses and conditions that would normally be treated by osteopaths, chiropractors, physiotherapists or with drug medication, would all be treated by Tuina.
Today Tuina has become very advanced in its treatment for many diseases. Used in many of the hospitals in China today in the front line of healthcare, whereas in the west these complaints are not seen in our clinics until they become chronic many days after the incident.
